Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017

The following UK universities have been awarded Gold – the highest possible mark – in the Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017:

The University of Kent:
The University has been awarded a gold rating, the highest, in the UK Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework. Based on the evidence available, the TEF Panel judged that Kent delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. It is of the highest quality found in the UK.

The University of Dundee:
Dundee has been given a Gold award in the 2017 TEF. In addition, Dundee has been named Scottish University of the Year by The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide for the past two years, and is also in the top ten of the UK’s National Student Survey and is one of Times Higher Education’s world top 200 universities.

The University of Leeds:
Leeds has achieved a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017. In its assessment of the University, the TEF panel highlighted the high levels of satisfaction, retention and progression to employment or further study.

Keele University:
The TEF panel’s statement of findings for Keele University highlighted that students from all backgrounds achieve consistently outstanding outcomes in terms of progression to highly skilled employment or further study. The panel also noted that Keele has made significant investment in physical and digital resources in learning technology and teaching spaces, and offers outstanding levels of student engagement and effective support, with a wealth of opportunities beyond the curriculum, including study abroad and volunteering programmes.

The University of Lincoln:
It was one of only 59 higher education providers of the total 295 entering the TEF to be awarded a Gold rating. In their statement of findings on the University of Lincoln, the TEF Panel commended the “outstanding physical and digital resources which pervade all aspects of student experience, including state-of-the-art teaching spaces”.
